Bespoke Keyboard Builder in Singapore
A bespoke mechanical keyboard atelier in Woodlands. We don't sell parts, and we don't shuffle pre-made kits. Every commission begins with a blank page and your idea, then ends with a 1 of 1 keyboard built, tuned, and finished by hand.
What "bespoke" means at Resonic
Most "custom" mechanical keyboards in Singapore are kits. Someone else designed the case, picked the colourways, set the layout, and ran a group buy. You join a queue, choose a flavour from a small menu, and receive what hundreds of others received. That's a custom keyboard. It is not a bespoke one.
A bespoke build at Resonic starts with you. You bring a vision (a beloved character, a memory, a colour from a painting, a hobby that's followed you for twenty years) and we translate it into a keyboard that exists nowhere else on earth. The case art is yours. The artisan keycap is yours. The palette, the layout, the finish, the switch feel, the typing sound. All of it is shaped around your brief, not around an existing product line.
This is closer to commissioning a tailor than buying a luxury good off a shelf. There is no pre-cut pattern. There is a workshop, a maker, and a long conversation that ends in something singular. For an explanation of how we work end to end, see our commission process and why Resonic pages.
The commission journey
Vision call
We start with a conversation. Text, voice, or in-person at the Woodlands workshop. You share references, feelings, the build's reason for existing.
Moodboard
We assemble palettes, motifs, finishes, and keycap families that match your direction, then narrow them down with you.
Renders
We produce digital mockups of the case, keycap layout, and artisan details so you can see the build before any printer or paint touches it.
Approval
Multi-render approval is standard. Nothing goes into production until you've signed off on the final visual.
Build
Case work, painting, keycap printing, and assembly happen in our SG workshop, hand-finished step by step.
Tune
Stabilizers are hand-lubed and hand-tuned. Switches are filmed and lubed where the build calls for it. The board ships ready to type.
Ship
Personal handover in Singapore, or insured courier worldwide. Average lead time is 4 to 6 weeks from approved render.
What we customize
Every surface of the keyboard is on the table. Hand-painted case art and finishes (matte, gloss, fades, weathering, metallic flake). Keycap themes drawn around your concept, with novelty caps that nod to your story. Bespoke artisan keys sculpted or sourced for the build, often sitting on the escape or enter position as a focal point. Switch selection and tuning, dialled to the sound and feel you want. Clacky, thocky, muted, snappy. Layout choices from 60% through full-size, including split-spacebars, stepped caps lock, and ortho where requested. Internal foam, plate material, and mounting style are tuned to suit how you type.
Commission tiers
Bespoke work spans a wide range, so we structure commissions into tiers. Lower tiers focus on curated keycap design and tuning around a strong base. Mid tiers add custom case painting, novelty keycap printing, and tighter art direction. Top tiers are reserved for full art-led builds. Sculpted artisans, hand-painted cases with multiple finishes, custom-cut plates, and unrestricted theme work. Every tier includes the multi-render approval process and the hand-tuned stabilizers that come standard on every Resonic build.
For tier-by-tier inclusions, lead times, and starting prices, read the full breakdown on our commission tiers page.
Why a Singapore-based maker for bespoke work
Bespoke commissions live or die on communication. A keyboard built around your idea needs honest back-and-forth. Quick replies, the right questions, and someone who actually understands the brief. Working with a Singapore atelier means you talk to the maker directly, in your time zone if you're anywhere in Asia, and in real working hours if you're elsewhere. Clients in SG can visit the Woodlands workshop, see materials in person, and collect the finished keyboard by hand. Overseas clients get the same close communication over chat and email, with insured worldwide shipping from Singapore. No middlemen, no resellers, no language drift between what you described and what gets built.
Past client commissions
A scholarly cream and maroon build with a custom artisan figurine perched on the escape key. Quiet, library-warm, with subtle gold accents on the modifiers. An aquatic-themed full-size with playful character illustrations across the alphas, a coral-orange palette, and a hand-painted reef motif on the case sides. A martial arts inspired 65% in deep crimson and navy, with novelty keycaps marking the strike points and a sculpted artisan above the arrow cluster.
None of those builds exist twice. They were drawn around their owners and stayed with their owners. Browse more finished commissions in the gallery.
"They worked with me to bring my design ideas to life, even did multiple renders before printing."

Pricing transparency
Every Resonic commission includes the vision call, moodboard, multi-render approval, hand-tuned stabilizers, switch tuning where appropriate, full assembly, quality checks, and packaging. Bespoke builds start from SGD $264.90 for entry-level commissions and scale upward based on tier, art complexity, artisan keycap work, case finishing, and any sourced rarities. We give a firm quote after the moodboard stage so you know exactly what your build will cost before you commit. No surprise add-ons, no padded shipping, no upsells once the work is underway. See the tier page for indicative pricing per level.
Frequently asked questions
What makes a Resonic commission "1 of 1"?
Your design is built once, for you, and never reproduced for another client. The artwork, palette, and artisan keys belong to your build. We don't repackage your concept into a kit afterwards.
How is this different from buying a kit and swapping keycaps?
A keycap swap personalises an existing product. A bespoke commission designs the product itself. Case art, layout, theme, artisan details, around your brief. The build wouldn't exist without the conversation that started it.
Can I see my design before you build it?
Yes. Multi-render approval is built into every commission. You see digital mockups of the keyboard from multiple angles, request changes, and only sign off when it looks right. Nothing is printed or painted before approval.
How long is the wait list?
Average turnaround is 4 to 6 weeks from approved render. Heavier art-led tiers can take longer. We give you an honest timeline at quote stage rather than a marketing one.
Can you ship overseas from Singapore?
Yes. We ship insured worldwide from SG. Most of our communication happens over chat and email, so working with us from outside Singapore is straightforward.
Bring us your idea
If you've been waiting for the right keyboard and never quite found it, that's because it hasn't been built yet. Tell us what you want. We'll draw it, render it, get your blessing, and make it real. One keyboard. One owner. One story.
