What is the Resonic Workshop?
Resonic Customs is a small bespoke keyboard atelier based in Woodlands, Singapore. The workshop is the part of our studio where you actually sit down at a bench, pick up tools, and build a mechanical keyboard from a base kit up. We don't sell parts. We sell complete experiences, and this is the one where you make the thing yourself.
The vibe is deliberately quiet and unhurried. Think of it less like a class and more like spending an afternoon in a workshop with someone who builds these for a living. We pour drinks, put on music, and walk through every step at your pace. There are no slideshows, no scripts, and no upselling. Most attendees have never opened a keyboard before. By the end of the session, they've lubed switches, fitted stabilisers, hot-swapped, programmed layers, and typed their first words on a board they assembled themselves.
If you've been browsing custom keyboards online and felt locked out by jargon, this is the most direct way in. You can also see a few past commissions over on our gallery if you want a feel for the style first.
What you'll build
You will walk out of the Singapore workshop with a complete, working mechanical keyboard. Not a kit in a box. Not a half-finished project. A finished, tuned, programmed keyboard that you typed your name on before leaving the bench.
Every workshop board uses the same calibre of components we put into our paid commissions. A quality aluminium or polycarbonate base kit, premium switches of your choice, a keycap set you pick on the day, and proper sound dampening. You'll hand-lube your switches, fit and tune the stabilisers, and assemble the layers in the correct order. We test the board with you, fix any chattering keys, and only call it done once it sounds and feels right.
The build itself is the experience. People often arrive thinking they're here for a souvenir and leave understanding why hobbyists obsess over typing feel. The keyboard you take home is genuinely yours, tuned for you, with parts you chose. It's the closest thing to a Bespoke 1 of 1 you can get in a single afternoon.
Workshop formats
We run three formats out of the Singapore studio. All taught in person by the same builder, so the quality of guidance doesn't change with party size.
Solo
Best if you want full attention and the option to go deeper into tuning, sound profiles, and layout choices. Good for hobbyists who already know what they want, or beginners who prefer one-on-one teaching.
Duo
The most booked format. Couples, best friends, parent and child, colleagues. You both build your own keyboards side by side. A properly shared activity rather than one person watching the other.
Group
Our team building format in Singapore. Birthdays, work offsites, friend groups. Everyone builds their own board with full guidance, and we pace the session so nobody gets left behind.
Pricing scales by party size and component selection. The current tiers and slots are listed on the workshops booking page.

Why people book us
Real teaching, not a demo
You do every step yourself. We don't pre-lube switches or pre-fit stabilisers and hand you the easy bits. The whole point is that you learn the craft properly, so when you go home and want to swap a keycap set or re-lube a switch in two years, you actually know how.
Premium components, tuned for perfection
The parts on the workshop bench are the same ones we use for paid commissions. No training-wheel kits. The board you build at the workshop is in the same quality bracket as the ones on our why Resonic page.
It's yours forever
No rentals, no "studio keyboards" you give back. The board you build is the board you keep. People still message us years later about the same keyboard they assembled in our Singapore studio.

"The keyboard quality is damn good, and I also applied for the workshop. They are very patient and we built the keyboard ourselves. Very friendly and nice to talk to. Highly recommend for a gift."

FAQ
Do I need any keyboard or technical experience?
No. The workshop is built for absolute beginners. If you can hold a brush and follow a step-by-step demo, you can finish a board with us.
How long does a workshop take?
Most sessions run 3 to 4 hours, depending on party size and how much tuning you want to do. We don't rush, and we don't run a clock on you.
Where in Singapore is the workshop held?
At our atelier in Woodlands, SG. The exact unit address is sent in your booking confirmation email after you reserve a slot.
Can I customize my keyboard at the workshop?
Yes. You pick your switches, keycaps, and small finishing details on the day. Layout and case options are confirmed when you book so we can prep stock.
Is this a good gift or team-building option?
It's one of the most repeated reasons people book. We host birthdays, anniversaries, and corporate team building workshops in Singapore regularly, and the gift voucher option works well for both.
